An Assessment of Volumetric and Mechanical Properties of PET Modified Bituminous Concrete Mixes
摘要
Plastic waste is rising to become a significant environmental problem due to the volume of plastic waste generated, which jeopardizes the environment and its creatures. People and the environment may face several problems as a result of inappropriate treatment of PET waste. Maybe the modern world can discover new applications for plastic waste to help with this problem. Due to its excellent binding properties when melted, PET plastic waste makes it less difficult to properly dispose of plastic waste in a safe manner when used to pave roadways. By incorporating waste PET in bituminous mixes used in flexible pavement, tests were conducted for the current study. Various amounts of PET (0, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14%) were included into bituminous mixtures in this experimental investigation. The various physical, volumetric and mechanical properties were checked out for conventional and modified bituminous concrete mixes.
