Survey and Review on AI for Personalized Learning

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the capability to modify the learning and teaching approach. In recent years and due to the emergence of COVID-19, the investment in 2021 has increased to almost 30 times. This paper provides a review of utilization of AI for education oriented towards personalized learning (PL). The work discusses how use of PL can lead to better retention of students, as the momentum of teaching depends upon their learning style and ability. This improves the outcomes. How utilization of chatbots, gamification, intelligent tutoring systems and readily available assessment and their grading further improves efficiency of teachers. The work also discusses the disadvantages like cost, potential bias, lack of trust with privacy and security concerns. Ethical issues like transparency, fairness and accessibility are also discussed. Even though there are challenges the possibility of integrating AI in education cannot be ignored due to benefits it brings with it. A survey has been done on a group of Engineering students and discussed regarding integration of AI in education.
