摘要

This chapter focuses on the stability issue of tower foundations for overhead transmission lines in permafrost regions, with the aim of providing technical references for similar engineering projects. It first analyzes the key permafrost engineering geological conditions, including ice content, mean annual ground temperature, and permafrost table, as well as the major engineering challenges such as frost heave, thaw settlement, and creep. Furthermore, it specifies the customized principles for line routing and tower site selection, and elaborates on the foundation design schemes along with their applicable conditions. Additionally, the chapter investigates the ground temperature characteristics and deformation rules of the foundations, proposes a variety of targeted treatment methods and construction technologies suitable for permafrost environments, and verifies their effectiveness in ensuring the long-term stability of transmission tower foundations in permafrost areas.
