Health Services Research in Geriatrics and Long-Term Care
摘要
Japan’s comprehensive long-term care (LTC) system requires more rigorous, evidence-based quality assessment. This chapter introduces health services research (HSR) as a critical evaluation framework for clinicians. It reviews the application of the Donabedian model (structure, process, outcome) and outlines Japan’s key LTC databases, such as the national claims database and the Long-Term Care Information System for Evidence (LIFE). The use of HSR is essential for generating evidence to improve care quality and inform policy in Japan’s super-aged society, providing a valuable model for other nations.
