A Comparative Study on the Impact of Agriculture Monitoring Systems Using IoT
摘要
The Internet of Things (IoT) is transforming agricultural practices by enabling the wireless monitoring and control of connected devices, enhancing operational efficiency and decision-making. This review examines the development and implementation of IoT-based smart soil condition monitoring systems to optimize irrigation and farming tasks. IoT systems significantly improve resource management while addressing risks such as trespassing by integrating advanced sensor technologies for soil testing, moisture and pressure monitoring, motion detection, and energy conservation. This paper explores the role of the six Cs of IoT—connectivity, communication, collection, convergence, computing, and content—in enabling real-time data access and analytics for stakeholders in precision agriculture (PA). The review highlights the potential of IoT technologies to generate actionable insights, improve crop yields, and promote sustainable farming practices. Additionally, it addresses the critical issue of data security, proposing dynamic security measures to protect agricultural data. The findings provide a comprehensive framework for future research and innovation in IoT-enabled farming systems, advancing the next generation of smart agriculture solutions.
