Analysis of Pump Shutdown Water Hammer Algorithm and Protective Measures in Building Fire Water Supply System
摘要
Water hammer in building fire water supply systems has a very important impact on the stability of the system and equipment safety. To deal with this problem, a lot of research has focused on water hammer protection algorithms for the pump stop. However, garage protection measures and water hammer algorithms is relatively small and research is mainly associated with smaller elements of the control system. It is not clear if the water hammer protection measures and algorithms are working algorithmically and efficiently. The aim of this study is to evaluate the performance of fire protection water supply in terms of the dynamic stability by comparing fire protection water hammer algorithms and stopping pump protection measures with that of fire protection systems where these are not applied. A series of 15 tests were done in a fire protection water supply system where the peak water hammer pressure and stability parameters were recorded. The findings suggest that the dynamic stability of fire protection water supply systems could be enhanced drastically by using fire protection pump stopping water hammer algorithms and protection measures. The water hammer pressure fluctuation magnitude could be reduced by applying these measures which could allow for a more rapid return of stable pressure and thus could aid in improving the reliability of the system and safety.
