The study reported in this work explores the effect of bulk viscosity in inflationary scenario as well as it’s role in the evolution of the universe for power law form of the scale factor. We have chosen bulk viscous pressure \(\varPi =-3H \xi \) where \(\xi =\exp \left( {-\frac{H}{H^{*}}}\right) g(H)\) . Here, g(H) is chosen as a linear function and polynomial function of the Hubble parameter H to demonstrate the evolution of the EoS parameter in presence of bulk viscosity. Also the evolutionary patterns of viscous and effective pressure have been examined in both the cases and it has been observed that during the inflationary phase the bulk viscous pressure has a very less influence compared to the thermodynamic pressure.
