This research presents an in-depth bibliometric analysis of the development of creative imagination in education based on publications from 2015 to 2024 in the Dimensions database. The study reveals a significant increase in research output over the past decade, highlighting growing global interest in this field. The findings demonstrate that keywords such as “imagination” and “education” are central in the literature, underscoring the integration of creative imagination as a major research theme. Leading institutions, including the University of Turku and the University of South Australia, have made substantial contributions, particularly through psychological, pedagogical, and educational technology perspectives. Notably, three highly cited publications from the University of Turku highlight the pivotal role of creative imagination in education by demonstrating that integrating storytelling into creative activities and fostering play-based learning environments significantly enhance students’ creative expression, resilience, and collaborative problem-solving skills. Keyword analysis identifies two main research focuses: the integration of imagination with education, art, and student creativity; and the application of technology and innovative learning processes to foster cognitive skill development and adaptability to social change. The study also reveals notable gaps in international collaboration. Overall, the research underscores the potential for creative imagination to promote sustainability and equip students to address global challenges through responsive educational practices.
