Cities are not only places for production, but also areas for people’s living and work. Economic development based on industrialization is the fundamental driving force for the formation and development of cities. Cities are built to provide places for economic activities, and on this foundation, population concentration occurs in certain spaces. However, with the development of industries and the agglomeration of population, the scale of cities has gradually expanded, and many cities in the world have suffered city malaises. Problems such as traffic congestion, housing difficulties, environmental degradation, and resource shortages have seriously restricted the sustainable development of cities. The reason can be attributed to the imbalance between industrial development and urban life. Such imbalance has two specific manifestations in the relationship between “production” and “city”.
