Assessment of Outdoor Thermal Comfort of Tieniu Square in Mianyang, China

With the development of the city and the increasing time of residents’ outdoor activities, a good outdoor space environment and thermal comfort have an important impact on residents’ physical and mental health. Taking Tieniu Square in Mianyang City as an example, we conducted the actual measurement and questionnaire survey of the outdoor thermal environment of the square under the hot weather in summer, and analysed the reasons for the differences in the thermal environment of each measurement point of the venue by combining the TSV (Thermal Sensation Voting) and TCV (Thermal Comfort Voting) of the respondent population, and the study showed that: (1) the correlation of the coolness index with the air temperature and the relative humidity is stronger, (2) for the wind speed, and the combination of the actual data and the questionnaire statistical result Greening and water bodies have a certain effect on thermal comfort enhancement, and (3) water bodies can improve the wind environment of the site. Through a series of current research in order to provide reference for the improvement of microclimate in the outdoor environment of Tieniu Square.
