Advanced Techniques in Botulinum Toxin Injection
摘要
Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin produced by the anaerobic, Gram-positive bacterium Clostridium botulinum. To date, eight serotypes (A, B, C1, C2, D, E, F, G) have been identified [1]. Clinically, type A and type B toxins are primarily used, with type A exhibiting the most potent effect, followed by type B [1]. Botulinum toxin disrupts nerve transmission by blocking acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction, inducing paralysis in the target muscle [2].
