Advancement in LFC of Multi-Source Multi-Area Hydrothermal Power System Using FOTID Controller
摘要
Power system frequency stability is a challenge in load frequency control (LFC) due to continuous variations in load demand. As a solution, this study explores into traditional controller such as PID and PI, followed by exploring fractional order controllers, such as FOPID, TID and suggests the fractional order tilted integral derivative (FOTID) controller duly optimized with Salp swarm algorithm (SSA). MATLAB simulations with SSA reveals that the control dynamics of FOTID is better than the others. Outcomes show the improvement in overshoot, undershoot and settling time. Comparisons with a benchmark paper affirm that the recommended controller is superior. The obtained results reveal a great improvement in LFC and create a path for the promotion of effective control strategies for multi-source power systems.
