Digital Translation and Display of Virtual Reality Applied to Combat Art
摘要
We explore the meaning and value of ‘combat art,’ taking the battle of Guningtou of Kinmen, the Republic of China (Kinmen County, Taiwan), as an example of digital translation and virtual reality technology. We reproduce the work to enhance the audience’s understanding of its content and educational benefits. A virtual reality (VR) experience system, designed with user comfort and immersion in mind, was constructed to provide the connotation and value of war artworks intuitively and a realistic and interactive experience. The strategies of introducing science and technology art into combat art were explored and experiments were conducted to evaluate the audience in the future. We explored traditional art in different media through digital translation, artistic expressions using oil painting, and VR. Spatial perception is an essential aspect of war art, as the spatial representation conveys the time and space of historical events. The public can understand the history of war and situations in the peace-oriented era.
