Protecting the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia received special attention during Jokowi’s Presidency. During the first and the second periods of Jokowi’s administration, sovereignty diplomacy was prioritized with its key aspects being state border resolution through negotiations. Given that several segments of the land boundary remain unresolved, this chapter examines Indonesian border diplomacy under Jokowi’s administration by specifically looking at the land boundary negotiations between Indonesia andTimor-Leste, particularly in the Noel Besi–Citrana segment, and the land boundary negotiations between Indonesia and Malaysia, especially in the Sebatik Island segment. This chapter finds that although Jokowi’s administration had a strong commitment to resolving several segments of the land boundary between Indonesia–Timor-Leste and Indonesia–Malaysia, up until his last period, Jokowi’s administration has not finalize the land boundary negotiations in the conflictual segment between Indonesia and Timor-Leste. Only in the conflictual segment between Indonesia and Malaysia, in Sebatik (West pillar to East pillar) it has been finalized and under MoU preparation. This became the challenge for the next administration under Prabowo Subianto.

摘要
