Inclusive Education for Overall Well-being in India: Debating Nonprofit Advertising for Attaining Sustainable Development Goals
摘要
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have become a global benchmark of development and well-being through its 17 goals, aiming all people to attain peace and well-being by the year 2030. Of the total 17 global goals; realizing inclusive, equitable quality education and fostering learning opportunities for all remain a prominence factor worldwide. Such kind of educational pedagogy provides the children pragmatic and lifelong learning scopes, which ultimately have implications for the development and well-being of communities on a global scale. However, education still remains a distant dream in several parts of the world and is posing potential challenges for attaining the happiness and well-being of a society. The case of India is doubly dismal and warrants discussion. This particular SDG is challenged across the nation. Children struggle to take admission in schools. Again, there are massive dropouts of children in schools. In some regions, even though children take admissions and continue in their education, they lack of acquiring the basic skills. It is quite apparent that without inclusive education, the well-being of community cannot be achieved. Out of several steps to foster inclusive, equitable quality education and promoting learning opportunities for all, public service announcements (PSAs) remain important in the domain of media and communication. PSAs are the messages designed for public interest for creating and changing people’s behavior. PSAs are one kind of non-profit advertisements that direct the people towards happiness and well-being through conducting social and non-profit campaigns. PSAs are being employed in various media platforms, considering their effectiveness on the people. The current chapter captures the implication of nonprofit advertising for the attainment of the well-being of society through ensuring inclusive education.
