Tourism has become a significant economic driver globally, but its environmental impact has raised concerns about sustainability. Green tourism is a promising approach to mitigate these concerns by integrating environmental conservation with tourism development. The research article is divided into five sections, each focusing on a different area of investigation. The first section summarizes the research topic, its significance, and objectives. The second section gives the research methodology with steps, while the third section covers the research design, data collection strategies, analytic procedures, sampling plans, and sample size calculations. The fourth section presents the study’s conclusions based on the data gathered. The framework identifies factors such as stakeholder engagement, policy and regulation, infrastructure development, community participation, and visitor education. It seeks to provide a comprehensive strategy for sustainable tourism growth by fostering collaboration among government agencies, local communities, tourism operators, and environmental organizations. It emphasizes the role of technology and innovation in enhancing the sustainability of tourism operations, including renewable energy sources, eco-friendly transportation, waste management systems, and green certification programs. The proposed conceptual framework provides actionable guidelines for policymakers, industry stakeholders, and local communities to implement green tourism initiatives effectively. It aims to enhance India’s tourism sector’s competitiveness while safeguarding its natural ecosystems and cultural diversity for future generations. The study’s key conclusions are outlined in the last chapter, which restates the research questions and objectives and explores the theoretical and practical implications of the findings.
