Knowledge management (KM) is an important tool to ensure competitive advantage in a competitive business environment such as construction industry. The KM subprocesses include knowledge creation, storage, shearing and utilization. This study focuses on assessing the knowledge utilization practice in Ethiopian construction companies. The data was collected through a survey questionnaire and the collected data was analyzed through descriptive statistics and factor analysis. The mean values show that the knowledge utilization practice in Ethiopian construction companies is unsatisfactory and the identified underlying dimensions of the knowledge utilization are: (i) employee encouragement and training programs, (ii) network of employees to apply knowledge and regular assessment and (iii) integrating planning strategies to enhancing knowledge management practice and (iv) application of previous knowledge as a lesson learned. The study findings would be an input for the construction companies in indicating the potential knowledge utilization dimensions. In addition, it would be an input for future research on knowledge management specifically knowledge utilization in the construction companies.
