As human-computer interaction systems become more complex, the negative impacts of task interruptions on performance have intensified, driving the search for more interruption management approaches. This study proposes an interruption management approach through dynamic lighting to enhance concurrent multi-task interruption performance. A 2×2 within-subjects experiment was designed to investigate the effects of dynamic lighting on post-interruption performance recovery. Results demonstrate that dynamic lighting improved interrupted task resumption compared to static lighting conditions. EEG findings indicated that exposure to dynamic lighting increased alpha power and decreased theta power, implying enhanced inhibitory control and reduced workload. This study confirmed the effectiveness of dynamic lighting as an external intervention to improve post-interruption performance and offers empirical support for using ambient lighting as an interruption management strategy.

摘要
