This paper presents a numerical simulation of the flow and heat transfer in the precooler of a civil aircraft bleed air system based on porous media model. Initially, a CFD calculation was performed on a local section of the corrugated plates inside the precooler. This resulted in a porous media convective heat transfer model for both the cold and hot sides. The validity of the model was verified by comparing the CFD results with the results calculated using the porous media model. Finally, the full-scale temperature field of the precooler were calculated using the derived porous media model, and the results indicates the effectiveness of the porous media model established in this paper.
