Objective The safety and hygiene evaluation of desalinated seawater is of great significance to guarantee the long-voyage personnel working performance. Method The present quality indexes and hygienic problems of desalinated seawater were analyzed, and the key water quality indexes were discussed. Result Improving the sanitary quality of desalinated seawater can start with improving water quality standards, replacing pipe materials, regular disinfection and advanced treatment after desalination. Conclusion The supervision of desalinated seawater hygiene and technology of water quality treatment should be strengthened. With the personnel from top to bottom attaching more importance to water quality and sanitation, the sound development of high-quality desalinated seawater supporting would be promoted.
