AI and the Transformation of Academic Integrity

AI is rapidly transforming many sectors of society, bringing about positive change while raising complex ethical, legal, and technical challenges. The use of AI in higher education continues to raise significant concerns about authorship, ownership, and control of academic work. Current guidelines for responsible AI use often struggle to keep up with rapid technological changes, leading to gaps in oversight and accountability (Cath et al., 2018). Some argue that AI should be banned from academic work, while others support its careful and ethical use.
