Replacing Plastic with Seaweed for a Cleaner Urban Environment: A Managerial Perspective
摘要
Plastics have created widespread contamination owing to continuous manufacturing, routine usage, and a lack of infrastructure to deal with waste. The primary objective of this extensive study is to raise public awareness and ascertain the managerial perspective of seaweed biodegradable plastic in comparison to traditional plastic. A carefully selected sample of 127 plastic vendors, representative of India’s broad plastic-centric industry, was enlisted. These vendors are active participants in day-to-day product packaging activities, providing vital information regarding consumer preferences and packaging materials. A thorough examination of the various materials used by these vendors to wrap their products before handing them over to customers was performed. A profound knowledge of plastic’s negative influence on the natural environment has created a willingness to embrace change and gravitate toward eco-friendly alternatives, especially if it is an affordable venture. Stimulation of widespread use of Seaweed Biodegradable Plastic can usher in a new era of environmentally conscious activities in India by raising knowledge and comprehension of its ecological benefits. Previous studies have focused on the manufacturing process of bioplastic from seaweed. But here the focus is on its feasibility and usage in the future.
