Training for Research in Psychiatry
摘要
Psychiatry, as a discipline of medicine, is evolving rapidly. Despite the stigma, several challenges still exist as students opt for psychiatry as a career. Research in psychiatry has significantly grown in recent years across the globe. Interest in psychiatric research has also increased among medical students and researchers. However, there is a gross lack of formal training for research for undergraduate medical students from low- and middle-income countries (LAMICs) in the field of psychiatry, although this situation has been changing in recent years. This chapter provides an overview of training for research in psychiatry with a specific focus on South Asia.
