Security Implications of Quantum-Resistant Encryption in Emerging IoT Networks
摘要
With Industries already feeling the impact of IoT devices and more especially Gadgets, the rise of quantum computing that is set to happen in the next foreseeable future presents a major challenge to most of the encryption techniques implemented in the industries to secure such networks. A lot of work has been done in recent years regarding quantum-resistant cryptography as a broad topic, but less is known about how it applies to IoT networks that are particularly bounded in terms of processing power and have heterogeneously structured messaging channels. This research will seek to evaluate the issues connected with a quantum-threatened future and the possibility of genuinely integrating post-quantum cryptography into IoT systems. It will consider how they affect the performance of the device, the rate of network latency and the overall security outlook to give a detailed assessment of how these new generation encryption methods can be harnessed to protect the rapidly expanding IoT systems from hack threats in the quantum environment.
