In India as per National Family Health Survey (NHFS) rounds 4 and 5, it hardly seems larger changes (earlier it was 30% and it reduces to 29.3% respectively) of women have experienced physical violence since the age of 15 years. In fact, during the pandemic, the jobs of women were lost, and they were overburdened with care work at home and lacked support. Families were in a distressful conditions and use of alcohol has increased which trickled down on women in terms of violence. Thus, the evidence shows an increasing case of domestic violence.
