In structural engineering domain, complexity involved across multiple stages of the design process. These intricacies span various stages, including topology analysis, sizing considerations, and weight optimization. Importantly these problems are associated with discrete and mixed design variables as well as linear and non-linear constraints. The standalone metaheuristic algorithms are designed to solve complex structural engineering problems. However, those are not efficient to solve all type of problems. This necessitates some strategic approaches to deal with it. This involves either refining existing methodologies or implementation adaptive techniques capable of solving these complex problems.
