This chapter looks at the shifting requirements for skills acquisitions of university students (especially focusing on undergraduate students) in the face of rapid AI innovation. The authors will examine the real-world costs to both educators and students as curricula adapt to changing needs in industry and academic research. Through this examination, the authors propose a dynamic policy and curriculum development framework (ADAPT-AI) for use by faculty and higher education administrators at the institutional, departmental, or classroom level to address the challenges and opportunities posed by the socio-technological advancements in AI across different sectors of society.
