Aim. This study aims to investigate the mediating role of work alienation in the effect of digital transformation on technological job insecurity anxiety in the banking sector. Based on the Technostress Model and Job Demand-Resources Theory, it is hypothesized that employees with digital transformation experience have higher levels of technological job insecurity anxiety. Methodology. The research data were collected online via Google Forms from employees of commercial banks operating in Istanbul using Google Forms. Analyses were conducted with 228 data points. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed for data analysis, Amos 24 was used for SEM and mediation analysis. Findings. The analysis revealed that digital transformation negatively affects technological job insecurity anxiety, and work alienation plays a mediating role in this relationship. Theoretical Contributions. The study provides an original contribution to literature by demonstrating the mediating role of work alienation in the relationship between digital transformation and technological job insecurity anxiety. Practical Implications. The research findings offer guidance for practitioners in developing HR strategies to manage the challenges posed by technological transformation, such as technological job insecurity and job alienation.
