Simulation of Cultural Heritage Corridors to Promote the Protection and Inheritance of the Culture of the Three Lines of Construction in the Former Wenjiang Area, Sichuan, China

The third-line construction is a major project to construct a strategic hinterland in the history of new China. In the face of massive third-line construction heritage in urgent need of protection, creating a coherent and comprehensive heritage spatial network is a crucial strategy to realize the overall protection and utilization of the heritage, as well as an important way to enhance the overall connection of regional culture. In this study, the spatial layout features of the three-line construction heritage in the former Wenjiang district are investigated by adopting the kernel density estimation (KDE), taking the former Wenjiang area three-line construction cultural heritage as an example. Based on the hierarchical analysis method (AHP) to establish a stratified model of resistance factors, potential cultural heritage corridors were simulated using least cumulative resistance and electric circuit theory. The study finally obtains the protection pattern of the former Wenjiang region’s third-line construction heritage corridor, provides theoretical support and practical guidance for the connectivity and integrity of the regional third-line construction heritage, and promotes cultural protection and inheritance.
