The minimal-renormalisable version of SU(5) grand unification model with only five dimensional Higgs participating in the Yukawa sector is known to yield generational mass degeneracy across down quark and lepton sector. This article shows that the aforementioned generational mass degeneracy can be lifted by considering the one loop radiative corrections to the different Yukawa vertices in the presence of one (or more) SU(5) singlet fermions. The one loop corrections are induced by the various heavy degree of freedoms (scalar, fermion, gauge boson) inherent to the model and the viability of model necessitates atleast two orders of magnitude difference in the masses of the added singlet fermion and scalar triplet. Notably, the article discusses the ability of quantum corrections in rendering an SU(5) model viable which was otherwise observationally inconsistent.

摘要
