Testing of Counter Mother Boards for the Cosmic Muon Veto Detector
摘要
The readout system of the Cosmic Muon Veto Detector (CMVD) relies on Counter Mother Boards (CMBs) to interface with Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPMs) at both ends of each di-counter, which consists of two extruded plastic scintillator strips. The CMBs handle signal acquisition, SiPM calibration, and provide precise bias voltage. Additionally, they feature onboard TPH sensors for environmental monitoring and an LED driver circuit for calibration. A dedicated test setup was developed to evaluate CMB functionality before installation, assessing bias voltage circuits, signal integrity, and LED SiPM calibration. This work presents the characterization process, testing methodology, and solutions to recurring issues, ensuring the CMVD achieves the required veto efficiency of 99.99%.
