At NISER Bhubaneswar, we are building a portable muon telescope for muon radiography applications. The telescope comprises four planes, each plane contains an acrylic casing housing a Resistive Plate Chamber (RPC) as bidimensional tracking element. A muon telescope of the proposed geometry has been modeled in GEANT4. A Lead block of size 400 \(\times \) 400 \(\times \) 200 mm \(^3\) is placed 2520 mm above from the centre of muon telescope. ECOMUG is used to generate the cosmic-ray muons. The image of Lead block is reconstructed using the muon telescope from the difference of muon counts with Lead block between muon generator and telescope, and without Lead block. Four glass RPCs and four acrylic casings are built for the construction of proposed muon telescope. The RPCs are measured to be muon detection efficiency > 95 %. The design aspects of muon telescope, results from simulation studies and RPC performance tests are reported here.
