Study of Event Shape Observables in \( Z \rightarrow \ell ^+ \ell ^-\) Events in pp Collisions Using Pythia 8
摘要
Event shape observables are essential tools for probing Quantum Chromodynamics and deepening our understanding of its dynamics. In these proceedings, we present a study of event shape observables for charged particles, focusing on transverse thrust and transverse sphericity, in inclusive Z-boson events, where the Z boson decay into a muon-antimuon pairs via the Drell-Yan process. In proton-proton collisions, underlying event activities particularly multi parton interactions play a crucial role in shaping the event structure and topology. We investigate the impact of multi parton interactions on both the kinematics of the Z boson, transverse thrust and transverse sphericity. Pythia8 simulation package is used to conduct this study.
