We study the single-cut solution of an SU(N) matrix model. The model supports three weakly coupled phases, and in one of them the model to a U(N) model. The phase transition from weakly coupled to strongly coupled regime is identified. It is found that not all weakly coupled phases can transition to the strongly coupled phase.

摘要
