Construction activities are risky activities with potential impact on quality, time of completion, profits, performance and productivity and hence risk management is essential at all stages of construction. The objectives of this study are to identify the major risks factors on high rise building and to categorize the risks depending on the factor’s probability, impact and to prioritize the risks as high, moderate and low and finally to identify the major factor causing risk in high rise building. Based on the study 15 types of major risks are identified, the data are collected by conducting survey and analysed using the Qualitative risk analysis method. The probability impact matrix is used to categorize the risks. The risk score is calculated from the obtained probability and impact ratings. A risk matrix is generated and the result obtained from manual and software approach were analysed. By prioritizing the identified 15 risks accordingly, 14 risks were under moderate risks category and 1 risk was under high-risk categories and most of the identified risks are influencing time and cost of the project. Most prominent risk from this study obtained among 15 risk is delays in construction projects.

摘要
