Comparative Study of Oblique Columns and Conventional Columns in the Seismic Assessment of High-Rise Buildings
摘要
Understanding and improving the seismic performance of structures with oblique columns requires the use of finite element analysis. The purpose of this research is to assess how well tall buildings with oblique columns as opposed to standard columns are protected from earthquake effects by analyzing the seismic performance of oblique columns using the finite element analysis tool ETABS. Ensuring the safety and resilience of buildings in seismically active places requires an understanding of the seismic performance of those structures. One effective way to lessen the forces caused by earthquakes is to use oblique columns. The primary criteria of interest are maximum storey displacement, maximum storey drift, and maximum storey shear. The analysis compares oblique columns that are subjected to seismic loads at different angles. The seismic performance of oblique column structures is shown to be superior to that of standard column buildings. A robust structure is produced by a reduction in storey displacement and drift and an improvement in storey shear.
