This study used a drone to conduct on-site aerial observations of the status of the ice floes on the frozen channel after the tugboat broke the ice, and collected relevant video image data. These data are used to analyse the size distribution (FSD) characteristics and geometric shape characteristics of floating ice in the channel after icebreaking. Research results show that floating ice has a power-law number density, and its power-law index threshold is like that of natural floating ice. Moreover, the area-weighted FSD of the floating ice shows a modal distribution, indicating that after the channel ice is broken, a group of floating ice with a dominant size is formed. The probability density distribution of ice floe size is fitted by Weibull function. In addition, through statistical analysis of the area, circumference and mean caliper diameter (MCD) of the ice floe, it was found that the size of the ice floe has little impact on its shape parameters (ice floe roundness, ratio of maximum and minimum caliper diameters). This research data set provides an important basis for exploring the geometric characteristics and distribution characteristics of floating ice after ships break ice, and provides data support for analysing the physical characteristics of the interaction between ships and natural sea ice.

摘要
