摘要
Spinal vertebral lesions (tumors, trauma, inflammation, and deformity, etc.) often require resection of the affected vertebral body and restoration of spinal stability via bone grafting or artificial vertebral body implantation. Artificial vertebral bodies are currently the primary products that are used to restore spinal stability; these products include titanium mesh and adjustable artificial vertebral bodies. For malignant or highly aggressive tumors of the spine, total en bloc spondylectomy (TES) is often required to control the tumor (Fig. 4.1), but this approach is associated with more difficult reconstruction techniques and higher rates of postoperative complications (Tomita et al. 1997, 2006).
