Comprehensive Assessment of Carbon Footprints in Construction Logistics: Methodologies, Challenges, and Sustainable Reduction Strategies
摘要
The construction industry significantly contributes to global carbon emissions, with logistics being a key factor in this environmental impact. This study evaluates the carbon footprint of transporting construction materials within a specific study area. Using a generalized mathematical model and emission factors, we quantified the emissions generated by material transportation. The research examines existing assessment tools, methodologies, and trends in carbon footprint measurement, highlights major challenges, and suggests strategies for reducing emissions. Our findings reveal that railway electric locomotives substantially lower carbon emissions compared to other transport methods. These insights offer valuable recommendations for reducing the environmental impact of construction logistics, supporting the industry’s decarbonization efforts.
