India aims to reduce its carbon intensity by 45% by 2030 and reach net-zero emissions by 2070 under the Paris Agreement. The transportation sector, a major greenhouse gas emitter, requires urgent decarbonization. This study evaluates transport emissions in Vadodara under Business-as-Usual (BAU) and Low-Carbon Scenarios (LCS). Through primary surveys (n = 150) and secondary data, the results show that 75% of electric vehicle (EV) adoption in passenger vehicles by 2030 and 100% by 2050, with 50% electrification of freight transport, could reduce emissions by 85%. This study provides strategic policy recommendations to accelerate Vadodara's transition to sustainable low-carbon transportation.

摘要
