Air Pollution Modeling for the Assessment of Air Pollutants from Crematoriums of Ahmedabad City
摘要
This study investigates significant air pollution emissions from crematoriums of Ahmedabad city. Average emission load from all the crematoriums of the city contribute about 1100 kg/day of CO, 157 kg/day of PM2.5, 88 kg/day of NOx, and 1 kg/day of SO2. Using AERMOD View 8.9.0, seasonal pollutant dispersion was analyzed for high-capacity crematoriums. The study quantifies instantaneous and 24-h average concentrations, impact zone, and the combined impact of proximal crematoriums for key pollutants. Results highlight gas chambers with scrubbers outperform wood pyres for emission control. Month of January showed minimal dispersion. These models can help to predict the buffer zone before setting up new crematories.
