摘要

This study explores the photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB) dye utilizing UiO-66, a metal-organic framework (MOF) known for its high surface area and catalytic properties. The research highlights the synthesis of UiO-66 through a microwave-assisted method, which enhances its efficiency in degrading organic pollutants. Characterization techniques, including FTIR spectroscopy, confirm the structural integrity of UiO-66 and its interaction with MB during the degradation process. The degradation experiments were conducted under both room temperature and sunlight conditions, demonstrating the effectiveness of UiO-66 in reducing MB concentration in aqueous solutions. UiO-66 exhibits significant photocatalytic activity, hence a promising candidate for environmental remediation applications.
