Corrosion Protection Using Chemical and Natural Inhibitor for Reducing Environmental Pollution
摘要
The effect of different concentrations of inhibitors of heterocyclic compounds like imidazole, drugs, and natural plant extracts on the weight loss measurements has been evaluated. Electrochemical properties of imidazole, drugs, and natural inhibitors have been analyzed on corrosion inhibition efficiency on mild steel and carbon steel in 1 M hydrochloric acid medium. The consequences of polarization, weight loss experiment, and electrochemical impedance are predictable in affirming the corrosion inhibition impact with and without utilizing inhibitors. Results elucidate that carbon steel has the highest inhibition performance of 99% when using ampicillin inhibitor. The lowest inhibition efficiency is seen in case of mild steel when using imidazole as a corrosion inhibitor, which is 78%. Hence, ampicillin and Eichhornia crassipes have a higher inhibition performance than imidazole among the different inhibitors used.
