How Antioxidants Influence Mental Health?
摘要
The determination of the diet and mental well-being is becoming a more frequent place to operate, calming stress on the first result for this species that influences the neurological functionality through oxidative stress. Oxidants, especially reactive oxygen species (ROS), serve as a double-edged sword in cellular action. When it serves the body in lesser amounts, it is beneficial, but the overproduction of ROS will develop oxidative stress related to neurodegenerative or psychiatric disorders. The brain is particularly susceptible to oxidative damage because of its high oxygen use/low antioxidant defenses, so it is even more critical that we reduce our oxidative stress to support mental health. Recent findings provide evidence for the idea that diets rich in antioxidants may ameliorate oxidative stress and protect against cognitive decline and affective brain disorders. The brain is a key organ that benefits from antioxidant nutrition, and significant potential exists for the inclusion of dietary interventions in the management of neurological and mental health diseases via optimizing its functions.
