Dynamic attitude changes cause the Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) on the platform to produce rotational line speed, resulting in measurement errors in both ship and water flow velocities. This study derives and evaluates these errors, concentrating on the sensor’s roll angle at the moment of pulse emission and the ship’s roll period. The simulation further incorporates variations in line speed and radial direction during each pulse emission-detection cycle, comparing the magnitude of errors with and without accounting for changes in the radial angle.

摘要

Dynamic attitude changes cause the Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) on the platform to produce rotational line speed, resulting in measurement errors in both ship and water flow velocities. This study derives and evaluates these errors, concentrating on the sensor’s roll angle at the moment of pulse emission and the ship’s roll period. The simulation further incorporates variations in line speed and radial direction during each pulse emission-detection cycle, comparing the magnitude of errors with and without accounting for changes in the radial angle.
