Mucoid Degeneration of Anterior Cruciate Ligament: A Systematic Approach for Debulking
摘要
The development of mucinous material in the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) without the presence of synovial lining is known as anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) mucoid degeneration, an underdiagnosed disorder. Numerous writers have identified this illness, shared their own views, and offered management recommendations. One crucial therapeutic tactic after diagnosis is “debulking” the ACL using an arthroscopic debridement. The steps involved in ACL debridement during arthroscopy have not been outlined in a protocol. In this Technical Note, we discuss our own arthroscopic method for ACL mucoid degeneration debridement using radiofrequency ablation and the stages involved. By showing the steps required for arthroscopic debulking of a mucoid ACL, this Technical Note seeks to reduce ACL impingement while preserving knee stability.
