Melanocytic Nevi
摘要
Melanocytic nevi are benign neoplasms of melanocytes, which can be congenital or acquired. Congenital melanocytic nevi are classified as small, medium, large and giant based on the size. Dermal melanocytosis is an umrella term encompassing nevi such as Mongolian spots, nevus of Ota, and nevus of Ito, characterized by the presence of dermal melanocyte. The natural course, clinical variations of these nevi in children and features indicating malignant transformation along with the management modalities are discussed in this chapter. Additionally, melanocytic nevi may also be seen in both phakomatosis pigmentovascularis and phakomatosis pigmentokeratotica, which are discussed in brief [1].
