Genetic Disorders Primarily Affecting Nails
摘要
Changes in the size, shape, colour and texture of nails may provide clues towards some genodermatoses. Awareness about these nail findings is imperative to suspecting and diagnose genodermatoses early. These nail changes in neonates or infants need to be differentiated from physiological or some pathological nail changes in this age group. This chapter summarises genodermatoses known to be associated with prominent nail changes, either as isolated nail abnormalities or as a syndromic manifestation. It lists the specific terms associated with these disorders, for better defining these changes.
