Going Smart: Processes Re-Engineering for Hydraulic Fracturing

This change is typical for growing, volatile, and competitive backgrounds with complex business landscapes that have the potential to trigger crisesCrisis. Similar to the examples discussed in the previous chapters, this critical step toward digitalizationDigitalization requires cutting edge techniques and toolsTool to gain success. Obviously, the oil-and-gas business is IT intensive as it integrates multiple system levels, such as SCADA, MES, and ERPEnterprise Resource Planning (ERP). In this case, the integration followed a dataData-centric pattern supported by a dashboard toolTool that provided the top management with a smart BI-based graphical interface.
