Corpora and Methodology
摘要
This chapter outlines the methodological framework for investigating translator functional styles in Er Ma translations. It presents five research questions addressing keyword identification, literary function creation, and stylistic divergence/convergence. The chapter describes corpus compilation including the source text, two reference corpora (RC1 and RC2), and four English translations spanning 33 years. It details five analytical stages: keyword generation and categorization, form-to-function analysis, literary function recreation investigation, textual function creation examination, and data interpretation. The chapter emphasizes corpus stylistic approach advantages in connecting linguistic forms with functions, providing comprehensive translator style understanding through triangulation of multiple analytical perspectives.
